A number of Batam leading businesses and entrepreneurs were given recognitions following their contributions to the investment atmosphere in Batam. As a Batam-wide investment appreciation event organised annually by BP Batam, Investment Awards 2022 was held as part of an events series celebrating its 51st Birthday on 26 October 2022.
In his welcoming remarks, BP Batam Vice Chairman Purwiyanto said that entrepreneurs have such substantial roles in Batam’s economic growth.
“With this event, BP Batam hopes that entrepreneurs can be inspired and motivated to keep growing Batam’s potential as a destination for investment in Indonesia,” added Purwiyanto.

There are 3 (three) awards categories given: personality, foreign investment, and integrated industrial parks. Details are as follows:
- Creative Digital Personality, given to Mike Wiluan;
- Innovative Developer Personality, given to Hartono;
- Foreign Investment with Best LKPM Report Compliance given to PT. Toyo Kanetsu Indonesia;
- Foreign Investment with Highest Export Value given to PT. Asia Cocoa Indonesia;
- Foreign Investment with Biggest Investment Realisation given to PT. Schneider Electric Manufacturing Batam;
- Foreign Investment with Best Factory given to PT. Caterpilar Indonesia Batam;
- Best Oil and Gas/Marine Foreign Investment given to PT. McDermott Indonesia;
- Best Industry 4.0 Foreign Investment given to PT. Infineon Technologies Batam;
- Foreign Investment with Best Social Insurance given to PT. Shimano Batam;
- Best Integrated Industrial Park given to PT. Nusatama Properti Panbil.
One of the awards recipient representatives, PT. Caterpillar Indonesia Batam (PT. CIB) Business Manager Medha Chaudhary said that ease of permit processes by BP Batam has allowed PT. CIB to grow to its current success.
“Our company was established in 2012, we currently have about 1,400 personnel. Permit process ease from BP Batam has helped us grow and of course we will keep our commitment to give benefits to Batam residents,” one of the recipient business representatives, Business Resources Manager of PT. Caterpillar Indonesia Batam Medha Chaudhary said during his remarks.
Approached at end of the awards giving ceremony, BP Batam Chairman Muhammad Rudi said that the rewards are an appropriate form of recognition, since businesses and entrepreneurs have been contributing towards increasing prosperity for Batam residents.

“These business people have contributed in increasing Batam residents’ prosperity, so this awards giving event is a decent thing to do as an appreciation,” said Rudi.
“With this event having been held, we hope businesses can keep feeling comfortable investing in Batam,” Rudi hopes.
“Being comfortable, we hope their investments increase and the information (on how comfortable investing in Batam can be) can spread internationally so more investors get attracted to investing in Batam,”
